Friday Morning

Friday morning came and it was time for the Taylor/Nash family to take a trip to the mountains for Christmas! Since we do not have any little ones in our immediate close family, we decided it would be nice to take a trip somewhere for the holidays rather than giving gifts out to each other. We decided to go with the mountains out near Liberty University. This also would be the first time of me taking Remi on a family trip. The Airbnb that my uncle rented allowed pets to stay as well. I was really happy about that because it made things easier on me having to find a babysitter for her. (yes I said babysitter instead of pet sitter because she is my baby)

When it was finally time to hit the road, My grandparents drove in front and my mom and I followed behind them. To make the time go by faster, my mom had me play some Christmas tunes and chit chat the whole ride up there. I made sure to vlog the whole thing, which you can find on my YouTube channel (you can also watch it down below) The trip turned into a all day trip when it really should have only took us 3 hours top to arrive🥲, but that's okay because it was still a fun ride up in the car with my mom and Remi in the back seat.

WE MADE IT!!

When we arrived to the cabin, it was sitting right on the lake and had the prettiest view of the sunsetting! Before we started unpacking the vehicles, I had to make sure to get a good sunset photo. Once everything was finally unloaded we started to decorate a little tree my mom had brought with us to make it feel more like Christmas while we were there for the weekend. While they were decorating, I was of course sitting on my laptop getting some work done and snacking on something to eat because it had been a while.

A couple hours later, my brother and sister in law arrived and we started a Christmas movie. (Elf) Somehow my sister in law said that she had NEVER seen the movie Elf, so we of course had to watch it! My brother and mom played a game of Jenga and my Nana was in the kitchen cooking away. We all ended up staying up until midnight and said Merry Christmas to each other and were suppose to be going to bed at this point, however us girls decided to get into the hot tub and see how it felt. IT WAS AMAZZINNG!! The water was so nice and hot that when you stood up in the cold 50 degree weather it wasn't that bad. Mind you, that the whole weekend the temperature didn't go under 50 degrees.

MERRY CHRISTMAS/Remi's 2nd Birthday!

Christmas was officially here! We brought it in of course the night before in the hot tub, but of course everyone went to sleep for a few hours and then we were back up to see the sunrise that morning, talk about needing sleep after the events! The sun rose over on the other side of the cabin, but once it made its way over the lake to our side, it was breathing taking again just like the sunset was when we arrived.

After we watched the sun come up, we sat down for breakfast and watched one of my brothers favorite childhood movies. It was then time for our family photos in our matching Pj set (purchased from Amazon) that my nana and uncle had picked out. My Canon was not wanting to focus for nothing, so we resorted to using the good ole iPhone and Samsung phone to capture the pictures. I must say, they did not turn out too bad if I do say so myself.

It was not only Christmas morning, but it was also the day that Remington Ashton was born into the world! I didn't do much to celebrate her birthday, but she did get a birthday cookie and some cute photos of her while on the trip. I think she really enjoyed being outdoors and getting some fresh air whenever she wanted. Living in an apartment with no balcony has its disadvantages for her and I.

Last day in the Mountains

The finally day had come on Sunday and my Papa wanted to go to a casino, so we looked up the closest Rosies that we could find. We were able to find a location that was about 45 mins away from where we were staying at. It was my first time to ever be at a casino. I have been to one on a cruise ship, but I don't really count that as going to one because I mainly would just walk through the area to get to my next destination. It was pretty fun to learn that game and I even managed to walk away with some extra money in my pocket, but I don't think I could do that all the time like some people enjoy it. When we were finished up at Rosies, we stopped to get something to eat at KFC to take back to the cabin and eat dinner before Remi and I had to hit the road since I had to be at work the following day.

It was a very fun and relaxing trip to be with my family and look forward to the next trip we take together. *If you made it this far into the blog, I hope you had a lovely holiday with your loved ones and rung in the new year starting off great!

Until next time,

xoxo Taylor
